Charity Partner

i4Life LogoHibernian Healthcare is a proud supporter of a small Irish charity doing amazing work in a very marginalised community in Lusaka Zambia. i4Life (www.i4life.ie) is run almost entirely by volunteers in Ireland and employs a team of healthcare professionals, nutritionists and community healthcare workers on the ground. We got to know about i4Life through Dr Kevin Connolly, one of the founders. Group Managing Director, Alan Moran and Education Pharmacist, Yana Angelova visited in October 2022 and Yana has been back in 2023. Alan has recently taken over as Chair of i4Life.

Funded by generous grants from charitable foundations and Irish Aid, and an enthusiastic fundraising team at home, Co-Founder Maura Moran (not related to Alan) and the i4Life team provide outreach and clinic services for nutrition and all the usual primary care services to a population of over 80,000 people. Prior to i4Life starting its work, infant mortality from malnutrition was almost 70% but has now been almost entirely eradicated through ground-breaking nutrition education and supporting services.

Hibernian is working with the team to help develop a patient record system appropriate for the local needs which will build data vital to planning services and ensuring best in class services can be continually delivered.

What can you do to help i4Life?

Volunteer some time. They need people at home to work on various working groups

  • Clinical Governance

  • Medical Support for the clinical team in Zambia

  • Operations Support

  • Fundraising

  • Security planning

Donate! Small regular donations would make an enormous difference to the work being done on the ground. See the iDonate link here

Support the Neem Tree Ball in The Mullingar Park Hotel on the 12th of October. More info coming soon.
