Liaison Nurse Advisor – Oncology / Haematology experience (Maternity Leave Cover)

Hibernian Healthcare at Home is looking for an Oncology / Haematology trained / experienced nurse to provide maternity leave cover. This is an excellent opportunity for a current Registered Nurse to join Ireland’s leading Patient Support Service provider to provide expert support and training to both patients and healthcare professionals. The successful candidate should have proven clinical and professional ability, leadership, communication and organisational skills.



3 days per week for 6 months

Commencing April 2018


The role is to provide effective support for a range of oncology / haematology patients in their homes. Working closely with Oncology & Haematology Centres around Ireland, the nurse provides a contact point for patients and liaises closely with the centres to ensure effective support is provided for this key patient group. Extensive travel is involved as the role covers the Eastern half of the Republic of Ireland.



  • Must be currently registered with Irish Nursing and Midwifery Board
  • Clinically competent in the oncology / haematology area with at least 3 years post qualification experience
  • Venepuncture skills compulsory
  • Good working knowledge of oncology / haematology services in Ireland
  • Ability to manage your own workload with proven initiative
  • High degree of flexibility
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients and relevant stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full clean driving licence and own transport



  • Build rapport with patients and referring centres
  • Provide education and support to patients in their homes
  • Ensure services are delivered within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure clinical competence to deliver programme objectives
  • Manage visit and call schedules to ensure optimum patient care
