Format: Blended – c.1.5 hours e-learning and 3.5 hours live

Process: Register, book a date, complete payment, get access to Anaphylaxis and CPR e-learning elements, attend face-to-face session, receive digital cert
Assessment: MCQ on e-learning, OSCE on drawing up from a vial and administering adrenaline to an adult, sills assessment for CPR
Cost: €260
Start date: We have provisionally set a start date of March 30th in Dublin
The course content includes:
Anaphylaxis:
- Triggers of Anaphylaxis including adverse drug reactions
- Recognising the signs and symptoms of Anaphylaxis
- Describe the treatment of anaphylaxis with adrenaline in line with national policy, guidelines and agencies
- Positioning a patient for administration of adrenaline
- Checking the appropriate dose to be administered
- Drawing up from an ampoule of adrenaline – needle selection for drawing up and administration
- Injection site selection
- Administering adrenaline
- Additional dosage if required
- Post administration observation and onward referral
- Patient follow up
- Reporting
CPR:
Irish Heart Foundation accredited Heartsaver AED course – blended offering.
Includes:
- Recognition of cardiac arrest in adults and children
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
- Rescue breaths
- Use of an AED
- Choking in adults and children
